Our friends at Manchester Creative Collective host Thursday night networking.

We're excited to announce our partnership with The Manchester Creative Collective, a network of likeminded individuals with a passion for music bringing those in the industry together, whether it's designers, lawyers, promoters or those who aspire to work in the music industry. Originated from last year's Off The Record, their events are held once a month with talks, live music and more. MCC will be opening Off The Record Thursday 9th November hosting networking drinks at Night & Day Café with key music industry delegates, open to ticketholders with a conference ticket or a gig & conference ticket, but not those with just a gig ticket.
Wendy, the founder of MCC, discusses the influence the intial Off The Record has had on the creation and blossoming of the collective:
"The initial idea for The Manchester Creative Collective came as direct result of conversations I had with fellow delegates at the very 1st “Off The Record” in 2016. It was apparent that a gathering such as OTR was much needed for people who had an interest in entering into or developing a career in Music, (and not necessarily just in performance) to access relevant and current thinking around the industry.
January saw the launch of our very 1st event and the room was literally full of a wide representation of our City's Musical creative's.
In March, my good friend and fellow new music enthusiast Guy Hodgkiss came on board as Co-Director and has offered a whole new fresh perspective (and of course, a shared workload has meant I am able to concentrate on developing the content for each event.)
Another strong vision was that MCC should be wholly accessible, both in terms of cost and culture. MCC is “not for profit” and where we are able, we ensure the door takings (after initial overheads) are donated to a different charity or cause each month. So far we have donated around £700 to various charities.
We are cultivating a true community that is aided by the support of a fantastic host venue, "Jimmy's" and our volunteer team who have given their time to pursue the shared ethos. We simply couldn’t function as well, without the support of key figures within the City, and where possible we will reciprocate fully!
As we approach our 1st Birthday, we are able to celebrate and reflect on what has been a year of growth.
We have welcomed some real heavyweight industry professionals and will continue to look to deliver events that support and mobilise the vast Musical and creative talent our home City has to offer.
Without OTR, MCC would have struggled to make those initial valuable contacts that have supported us and helped us to establish such a positive community. Its a pleasure to be working with OTR at this year's event and I would urge delegates coming down to explore as much of this event as they can and get in the mix, you just never know who you may meet and what journey may begin as a result!" - Wendy Smith.
