Yaw Owusu is the Creative Director of music curation and consultancy agency, Nothin But The Music, Director & Artist Manager at the playmaker group and the Curator of Liverpool International Music Festival.
After completing University, Yaw launched URBEATZ Ltd, his first business, in 2005 as a music and media organisation. URBEATZ soon become known throughout the UK for its unique brand of music, film and media, resulting in several awards for creativity, innovation and enterprise.
In 2009, Yaw set up One Hundred Global Ltd, a Music and Youth Culture Management and Consultancy Company, which worked with a plethora of artists and brands. In 2010, One Hundred Global merged with media and events company the playmaker group (PMG), thus establishing a multi-strand creative solutions organisation. Under PMG, Yaw has worked with a number of world leading brands, organisations and artists including Nike, AEG, Sony, Universal Records, The Fader, AATW, VP Records / Greensleeves, BBC Radio 1Xtra, MTV, Dizzee Rascal, Damian Marley and many more.
Yaw is also the Creative Director of Nothin But The Music (NBTM) which launched in 2012. Under NBTM, Yaw has programmed and curated a number of key music events and projects working with and for clients such as MTV, BET, Liverpool International Music Festival, BBC Radio 1 Academy, MOBO, Jockey Club Live (The Grand National), Boiler Room, Everton FC, The Brit School, Laces Out! Festival and the Competitor Group (Rock N Roll Marathon Series). In addition, under NBTM, Yaw has released a number of singles and projects that have earned acclaim, major syncs and national and international radio support.
